We invite you to enter the Preiļi Robotics Championship, which will take place on 28 January 2023 at Jānis Eglītis Preiļi State Gymnasium, Kooperatīvā iela 6, Preiļi.
Information about the competition, the regulations, the event schedule, results tables and a link to the video stream during the event can be found at: http://ej.uz/PRC2023

The aim of the event is to encourage children’s and young people’s interest in engineering and robotics, which is one of the fastest-growing fields in the world.

Championship events:

  • Linefollower or line followers. The robot’s task is to complete the given track, a black line on a white field, as quickly and accurately as possible.
  • Mini Sumo robots present themselves as the smallest, but not the weakest, sumo robots.
  • Lego Sumo robots can surprise with their versatility.
  • iRobot Sumo uses robot vacuum cleaners that have been creatively modified to fight in the ring.
  • In Folkrace robots compete on an obstacle course that only the most agile and resourceful robots can complete.
  • In the Drone competition, the pilot must be skilful enough to fly an obstacle course with a flying robot, a drone.
  • In the Freestyle category, everyone has the chance to demonstrate their robotics achievements to a wider audience.
  • Antweight robot competition – an event in which the robots are operated with a remote control.

Participation in the event is free of charge, and there are no limits on the number of registered robots, the number of team members or the age of participants. In some events, participants are divided into age and skill groups.

Robot registration is open until 23:59 on 24 January. We kindly ask everyone to register in good time so that we can plan the order and timings of the competition more accurately!

Photographs and video will be taken during the event. By registering for and taking part in the event, participants consent to being photographed and filmed.

For their own comfort, participants are strongly advised to bring indoor shoes.

Classrooms will be available to participants, where they can prepare their robots for the competition. If necessary, bring extension leads and power strips, as the classrooms may run short of power sockets. We will not be able to provide participants with extension leads.

Mini Sumo and iRobot Sumo participants must bring gloves and, while the robot is not fighting in the ring, must provide safe covers for the blades so that other participants are not injured!

Please pay particular attention to the catering information:

If an invoice is not needed, lunches can be paid for in cash at the school canteen on the spot (cash only!), but in any case the number of diners must be reported to the catering company!
