Sigulda Robot Cup ends with good results

On Saturday, 25 February, the latest round of the Latvian Robotics Championship took place in Sigulda, where members of the PRK (Preiļi Robotics Club) team won several prize places!

In Mini sumo, pupils’ group, Anastasija Krohmaļuka and Katrīna Jaundzema (12.A) took 2nd place and Mārtiņš Ulpe (11.B) took 3rd place.
In Folkrace, pupils’ group, Patrīcija Reščenko (12.A) took 3rd place.

In the fiercely contested iRobot sumo battles, Jānis Bečs (12.A), who took 3rd place, came very close to the higher steps of the podium, yielding only to the more experienced veterans.

The Sigulda competition was very successful for Lego event competitor Jānis Bērzinieks (7.D), who, in very large and fierce competition, took a high 2nd place in the Lego sumo 13+ group, and 3rd place in Lego line following!

Thank you all for your work, and good luck in the next competition in Malta!

Juris Erts, programming teacher at the Jānis Eglītis Preiļi State Gymnasium
