Preiļi robotics team takes part in the international robotics competition “Robotex 2023” in Tallinn

While Latvia was celebrating the 105th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, from 17 to 18 November 2023 one of the most ambitious robotics competitions in Europe took place – “Robotex 2023” in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia (at the Saku Suurhall sports hall).

This year the Preiļi Robotics Club (PRK)/Robotu Skola team was represented by 3 participants – Jānis Bērzinieks (8.B), Andrejs Gžibovskis (9.D) and Mārtiņš Ulpe (12.B). All 3 competitors showed good results in Latvian and Lithuanian competitions in the previous season, and therefore earned the opportunity to represent Latvia at “Robotex 2023”.

All the robots entered for the competition passed the 1st round in the subgroup fights and joined the fight for places on the podium. The strongest competition for our team’s participants came from participants from Cyprus, Italy and South Korea, who managed to beat our robotics enthusiasts. Although this time we did not manage to win the top places, everyone is a winner, because new experience was gained.

The Latvian Robotics Championship begins with the competition in Jelgava on 9 December, and the next one is on 16 December in Riga – the TSI robotics tournament.
The Preiļi Robotics Championship will take place on 27 January. In total, the Latvian Robotics Championship will have 8 competition stages this year.
