New experience and success at the Minsk Open Robotics Tournament!
From 31 May to 2 June 2019, representatives of the Preiļi Robotics Club took part in the `7th Minsk Open Robotics Tournament`, held in the hall of the Expo centre in the Belarusian capital. More than 1000 participants took part in the competition. Our team represented not only the Preiļi Robotics Club and Robotu skola but also our country, as we were the only representatives from Latvia.
Armands Upenieks won 1st place competing in Line following PRO, and all the podium places of honour were taken in Mini sumo!
This success was also helped to be forged by Aldis Buks and other club members, including Matīss Buks and Matīss Dambītis, who for various reasons could not take part in this competition. We are proud of all our robotics enthusiasts, especially Armands Upenieks!
Over the three days of the competition we gained many and varied impressions of both the organisation of the competition and robot building, and got to know what Belarus has achieved and its goals in robotics, electronics and programming. Contacts were made not only with Belarusian robotics enthusiasts but also with colleagues from Ukraine and Russia.
At our invitation, colleagues from Minsk had come to the Preiļi Robotics Championship in January this year, after which we received an invitation to take part in the Minsk competition.
Thank you to our Belarusian colleagues for the hospitable welcome and the good organisation of the competition!
